Letter Opener Speeds and Duty Cycles

Letter Opener The letter opener’s operating speed is the maximum speed the motor on the letter opener is capable of running, usually measured in envelopes per hour. The manufacturer will list an operating speed but this does not mean the machine can function at this level continually. Operating machines at maximum speed for excessive amounts of time will increase wear, damage parts and reduce the lifespan of the machine. To determine the optimal usage of a letter opener, refer to the opener’s duty cycle in the manual or ask an authorized representative. This will tell you how many hours the machine should used in a day. Proper usage will reduce maintenance and increase the life of the letter opener.
