Double-loop wire, also known as wire comb and twin-loop wire, is one of the most popular forms of book binding among businesses. Double-loop wire looks very professional and allows documents to lay flat on desks. Pages can be easily turned and wrapped around. The wire is available in several colors and sizes.
Wire binding is available in several formats, depending on the machine being used. The two most popular forms of wire binding are 3:1 pitch (three holes per inch) and 2:1 pitch (two holes per inch) wire. Three-to-one binding is sometimes referred to as Wire-O binding.
The third form of wire binding is 19-ring wire, also referred to as Spiral-O. Nineteen-ring binding elements are typically used with combination binding machines that can do both wire and comb binding.
